Biodiversity: A measure of the number of different species in a particular area.

Consumer: A consumer is a living organism that eats other living organisms.

Food Chain: Shows the feeding relationships between living things. It starts with a plant. Arrows show the direction of energy flow.

Food web: Show the feeding relationships between many organisms in a particular habitat.

Habitat: The place where a living organism lives, e.g. forest, desert, etc.

Living Organism: A living thing, made of cells. Living things respire, reproduce, excrete, use nutrients, move, grow, sensitive.

Population: The number of individual organisms of a species in a particular place.

Producer: A producer makes food, by converting sunlight energy to stored chemical energy.

Species: A category (type) of living organism. We can classify organisms into different kingdoms. Each species has a scientific name: e.g. Homo sapiens
